Patrick Boivin Profiled in Melodika

By woolf lapin on December 17th, 2008 in News | No Comments »

Patrick Boivin was recently profiled by the online magazine Melodika. It’s a very cool Q&A on his creative process for not only his live-action work but his animation work as well. Melodika also says that Patrick’s award-winning short Radio is the best film ever uploaded on Openfilm. Rightly so.

On another note, actor John Schneider blogged Patrick’s new stop-motion transformer spoof. He literally created a new Transformer out of the Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee. Boss Hogg can’t stop this Dukesfest!

Patrick Boivin Revisits the Old Osvaldo Cavandoli Classic

By woolf lapin on December 11th, 2008 in Woolf + Lapin TV | No Comments »

Director Patrick Boivin puts a new spin on the old Osvaldo Cavandoli classic. It’s funny as hell; and it’ll bring you back I swear.  After being the “it” guy on Youtube and getting well-deserved international attention, Patrick was sought out by this Zurich-based client for his unique talent and know-how. He adapted an old animation concept from the 70s to produce a very funny interactive ad based on the very temperamental character at the mercy of what his creator draws or doesn’t draw around him.

Hungrymantv Sets the Table

By woolf lapin on December 8th, 2008 in Things We Like... A Lot | No Comments »

Love what Hungrymantv is doing. They’re they guys behind 10 years’ worth of good Superbowl ads. Now they’re trailblazing on the web with their brand of shorts, series, ads or skits that deceivably combine all of these. Check out the ad “New Family” which squarely blurs the line between advertising and short film. This type of programming is perfectly suited for the web platform. Yeah it’s Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld you see. And it’s hilarious. But Microsoft should stop putting all that money on advertising and put it on R&D. At any rate, the award-winning folks at Hungrymantv have got the goods. They have a variety of shorts from other directors as well. Quarantino’s Mind is a good example of the talent they’re drawing.

Martine D’Anjou a une bonne Tactik

By woolf lapin on December 1st, 2008 in News | No Comments »
