Jim Donovan

In 2010, Jim Donovan made some waves with the harrowing 3 Saisons, which made the official selection of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, the Mostra de Cinema de Sao Paolo as well as the Whistler Film Festival where the film was awarded best new Canadian feature and best actress.

In the end, 3 Saisons would garner 3 nominations for best editing, best actress and best film at the 2010 Genie Awards.

Jim also directed the film Pure (nomination for Best Direction at the 2005 Director’s Guild of Canada Awards), which traveled as far as Brazil. Jim is not only well-versed in film direction. He has directed the TV hits Instant Star and Naked Josh, which earned him a nomination for best direction in a comedy series at the Gemini Awards.

Jim has since directed TV episodes of Flashpoint, Cracked (nominated at the Director’s Guild of Canada Awards for his episode “Ghost Dance”) and Heartland. And is now back in Quebec to helm the Casablanca Produced TV series Le Clan, for Radio-Canada.
