John Hazlett

Straight out of film school, John produced the classic low-fi Canadian feature The Suburbanators, which premiered at TIFF and The Sundance Film Festival. He followed up by producing the hit teen comedy Kitchen Party, introducing future star Scott Speedman to the world.

Creatively cranking it up, John wrote and directed two acclaimed comedy features, Bad Money, with Oscar nominated Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves) and Karen Sillas (What Happened Was), and These Girls, staring David Boreanaz (Angel, Bones) and Caroline Dhavernas (Wonderfalls), which premiered at TIFF. Both films played at numerous international festivals and have sold around the world.

Having established his feature comedy credentials, John has since written screenplays for Attractions Images, Muse Entertainment and Just For Laughs.

Focusing on writing, he is developing multiple feature and TV projects – including Wishfart, an animated series he co-created, now in production with Teletoon.

John has recently been contracted by Attractions Images to write an original thriller titled Creep Shot, that Patrick Boivin is slated to direct.
