Patrick Boivin at Just for Laughs

We’ve blogged this film here before. Still worth mentioning the film headlined at Just for Laughs’ “Tout Court Québec” last week. In case you missed it, here’s Monsieur Monsieur Boivin’s Queloune. Can a clown (Dominique Pinon) really adapt to his new life as a Zombie? The ambiance at times is a throwback to Patrick’s previous work in Phylactère Cola.

Mike Czuba’s Play I AM I at Players’ Theatre

i-am-i1

“Man 1 and Man 2 are locked in a life long struggle between wants and needs, the desired and the rational, never fully understanding that one without the other means nothing. This battle of ideals comes to a head with the introduction of Sonya, the latest object of interest and the metaphor for all that came before. Not only does she represent the women, but their dreams and identities as well. Written by MIKE CZUBA – Directed by LARRY LAMONT – Starring PATRICIA MCKENZIE, TRISTAN D. LALLA, GEORGE BEKIARIS – Set and Costume Designs by MYLȎE CHOQUETTE and PHIL KADOWAKI – Music by TAI TIMBERS – Stage managed by ALLIE SMITH.”

Action According to Jim Donovan

There’s also a cool interview he gave to watchmojo.com. He talks about his creative evolution as a filmmaker from short to long form. He’s quite candid about his rise to success as well as his collaboration with Oscar winner Roland Joffe (The Mission).
