Mark’s scripts are character-driven thrillers that explore
how people act when the stakes are high and the protagonist must confront a moral
dilemma. Before screenwriting, he spent years in the courtroom as a public defender,
prosecutor, and then as a lawyer leading complex toxic-tort, personal injury and
business dispute cases.
More than twenty jury verdicts taught him much about
character, conflict, and human nature under pressure. His legal background
sharpened his storytelling instincts: how to build tension, reveal motivation, and
craft emotional truth through testimony and dialog.
Now, instead of juries, he writes
for audiences – bringing the folly, grit and humanity of life for feature films. A
graduate of Kansas State University (Journalism) and Washburn University School
of Law, Mark is based in Manhattan, Kansas, developing screenplays grounded in
authenticity, redemption, and moral complexity.
