Dreamland: A Serialized Fiction Podcast Adapted For Television

A single-minded private eye. A con artist with a grudge. A producer making ends meet and a stunt man at the end of his rope.

Just another week in Los Angeles.

Novice detective Lorien James has her work cut out for her. She’s just been hired to track down a shrewd impersonator, and lives (and Hollywood reputations) are on the line. Meanwhile, Derrick Silver is about to land his dream directing job – or so he thinks. Knives are sharpened and sequels are pitched as two separate timelines converge.

A story about the stories we tell ourselves, and about finding the truth by accident.

Dreamland is a six-episode fiction podcast that’s part mystery and part dark comedy. Inspired by actual events, it switches between two separate timelines to uncover
a surprising truth.

It is loosely based on the real-life story that broke in Hollywood last summer in which “some of the most powerful women in entertainment — including Amy Pascal, Kathleen Kennedy, Stacey Snider and a ‘Homeland’ director — have been impersonated by a cunning thief who targets insiders with promises of work, then bilks them out of thousands of dollars.”

Written by Chance Muehleck and directed by Melanie S. Armer, Dreamland is available for free and can be accessed directly on the website, as well as subscribed and listened to on all major platforms, including iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, and Spotify.

The podcast is now being considered for a TV adaptation. Here’s a teaser for the podcast:

Humanitarian Filmmaking: Caleb Slain’s Welcome to the End of the World

Amid all the political scandals, it’s always refreshing to turn our attention elsewhere… perhaps  to the end of the world…

In the Autumn of 2013, Caleb Slain was one of three filmmakers recruited to explore the work of a team helping children in some of the most ignored area of the globe. He and cinematographer Chad Terpstra ventured out into the Indian state of “Nagaland,” one of the most remote regions of the eastern Himalayas to learn about it’s people, the health conditions of the children, and a group called “Vitamin Angels”.

There is good out there.
